Frequently asked questions

  • What does SEER mean?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. You can equate SEER to gas mileage, the higher the SEER rating the more miles per gallon.
  • How often should my air filter be changed?
O & H believes that your filter should be changed monthly to provide better indoor air quality. A helpful tip is to change your air filter when you pay your light bill.
  • Why does my heat pump condenser "smoke" in the winter months?"
Your condenser is not actually smoking, it is steam from the system going into a defrost cycle. Sometimes during this cycle you may feel slightly cooler air, but your emergency heat should help with the cool feeling.
  • How often should my HVAC system be serviced?
Your HVAC system should be serviced at least once a year. O & H offers a preventative maintenance program called "Rose Care" that will allow us to come and clean your system TWICE during your contract with us!
